U20 Junior Team Canada Announces Roster
Saturday, 24 October 2009

Tri Cities Ball Hockey alumnus Andy Liboiron (KW Rangers) has been selected to represent Canada at the U20 World Ball Hockey Championships in Villach, Austria from June 22-26, 2010.

Ball hockey is billed as a “Game anyone can play” but it takes special athletes to play our game at the highest levels of national and international competition. Andy’s journey to Junior Team Canada started in the Tri Cities Ball Hockey League in Kitchener/Waterloo through the league’s affiliation with the Ontario Ball Hockey Association. From here he was picked up by the Penetang Blazers to help fill out their roster as they headed to the 2009 U19 Junior National Championships in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Junior National Championships are where much of the scouting is done by the Team Canada coaching staff. Tri Cities Ball Hockey and the City of Waterloo will be hosting the 2010 Canadian Junior National Championships from July 29 – August 1. The Junior National program is part of the Canadian Ball Hockey Association’s development program to develop players for Junior and Men’s Team Canada for international competition. There are four levels of play in U15, U17, U19 and Girl’s U16. Tri Cities Ball Hockey will be entering a host team in each division. Watch for more information at the league’s web site at
